ISLAMABAD:
The Foreign Office stated on Sunday that all Pakistani nationals in Syria were safe and had been told to exercise caution.
"We are closely monitoring the evolving situation in Syria," a Foreign Office official stated.
The message stated that the Pakistani Embassy in Syria was available for assistance and advise. Damascus Airport is currently closed.
"Our embassy is still in communication with stranded Pakistani nationals, including Zaireen. It will make their return easier once the airport opens," it added.
"Pakistan has always supported unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria, and there is no change in our principled position," according to her.
