Maulana Fazlur Rehman, chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), has completely rejected the government's proposed draft on constitutional amendments, calling it unacceptable.
Speaking to the media informally at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Qaiser's home, Fazlur Rehman disclosed that the government's initial draft had been completely rejected following scrutiny.
He said, "Now they are claiming it wasn't even their draft," casting doubt on the legitimacy of the procedure. What sort of gaming was that?
In an earlier meeting, the delegations from the government and opposition sought Fazlur Rehman's backing for the amendments. However, he made it clear that the suggested text was unacceptable in any scenario.
