On Tuesday and Wednesday, Pakistan is getting ready to host the 23rd Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of the Heads of Government meeting in Islamabad.
During a media briefing in Islamabad on Sunday, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar made this news, according to Radio Pakistan.
Dar emphasized that all ministries and institutions have worked well together to make sure the summit was carried out successfully.
Prime ministers and senior officials from SCO member nations, including Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Iran's first vice president, will attend the meeting. Additionally representing their respective nations will be Li Qiang, the Premier of the State Council of China, and India's External Affairs Minister.
In addition to assessing the organization's performance, the program will concentrate on strengthening collaboration in a number of areas, including the economics, commerce, environment, and sociocultural ties. On the fringes of the conference, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is anticipated to have important bilateral discussions with delegation leaders.
The goals of the SCO, which was founded on June 15, 2001, are to fortify multilateral cooperation, advance peace and security, and create a new world economic system.
