Authorities in Morocco reported on Sunday that flooding brought on by a "exceptional" climatic event in the country's south had claimed four lives and left fourteen more missing.
In the province of Tata, about 740 kilometers south of Rabat, "four people have died and fourteen have gone missing" since torrential rains started on Friday, a local official told AFP, adding that the death toll might possibly grow.
According to the unnamed official, "eight houses were washed away by floods in some valleys" close to Tamanart, a rural area in the Tata region.
Since Friday, a lot of rain has created floods in normally dry areas of southern Morocco and Algeria, officials said AFP on Sunday.
