In three different operations in North Waziristan, security forces killed ten terrorists and wounded eight others, the military's media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said in a statement on Sunday.
The ISPR described an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in which troops engaged a terrorist stronghold in the Spinwam area of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's (K-P) North Waziristan district. Two of the extremists were eliminated after a fierce gunfight.
Security personnel in the same region stopped a party trying to cross the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in another incident. The ISPR stated that a sanitization operation was in progress to rid the area of any lingering militants after "troops thwarted the infiltration attempt, killing two terrorists and injuring two others."

Six terrorists were killed and six others were injured in an earlier IBO that was carried out in Spinwam, North Waziristan. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the location as a result of the operation, which was predicated on intelligence about the existence of terrorists.
