"No surprises": According to Aurangzeb, Pakistan revealed its economic roadmap with the IMF mission that was in town.

ISLAMABAD Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb dispelled rumors over the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission's visit to Pakistan by stating that "we shared the country’s economic road map" with IMF officials, indicating that there were no surprises.

1: FinMin claims that during the visit, IMF representatives said nothing new.

2: Asserts encounters that are essential to mutual trust and confidence.

3: "PM to share home-grown agenda on economic stability soon."

The minister said these things at a press conference after the IMF's delegation, headed by Nathan Porter, concluded a visit from November 12 to 15.

Aurangzeb welcomed the Fund mission's visit and stated, "IMF didn't say anything that we were not aware of already there were no surprises."

There were rumors that the federal government might have to release a mini-budget as a result of the unexpected visit from the global lender.

In an earlier interview with Geo News, Aurangzeb, however, disputed the likelihood and refuted rumors of further tax measures.

As the nation struggles to increase its tax collection, the international lender said in a statement released a day earlier that it has encouraged Pakistan to explore untapped revenue sources in order to diversify its tax base.

According to the Fund, staff visits are common in nations with semi-annual program reviews and are intended to inform authorities and other interested parties about the nation's economic policies and developments as well as the state of planned reforms.
